"Potpourri" is a performance that unfolds as a very slow four-hour image which decomposes and recomposes in an imperceptible improvisation like the constant recomposition of the configuration of grains of rice around the performer.
"I want to open spaces, chasm, and give people mental space. The very sight of immobility provokes. I don’t pretend to trigger reflection, or even awareness, I just want people to make a journey within themselves. The place of the performance gives the spectators a space of availability. They offer themselves their own space. I am convinced that people come to expand their mental space and to dream. Of course it is possible to dream everywhere, but we don’t always give ourselves this time. I give time and space and if the spectator does not take it, it is his/her responsibility. It is up to the audience to find the movement. To find the invisible space of movement. The viewer is a witness to my experiences. ». Yann Marussich
